Harvey Houses in Arizona….
Sadly most of the Harvey Houses in Arizona have been demolished….
However, the few remaining Harvey Houses still evoke memories of a wonderful era for travellers.
IN Seligman, for example, there stood a large rambling 60,000 square foot building, with many hotel rooms, and a very large kitchen, waiting room, and a lunch room . The ATSF removed itself from the building many years ago. Today, the 1905 building has gone, and it was demolished by its owner, the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad.
One of the remaining Harvey Houses is now The Posada Hotel in Winslow. The last Harvey House is now been beautifully restored again . Visitors can be assured of a wonderful warm welcome and a very pleasant stay.
